Job Description

The assignment involves strengthening the team for travel planning with a focus on backend development and OpenTripPlanner (OTP). The role aims to drive the development of central travel planning APIs forward.

These APIs serve as the hub for travel planning in external and internal digital channels as well as on the organization's public developer portal. The services orchestrate and provide data for both internal consumers and external partners as well as third-party developers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of backend services related to travel planning
• Management of integrations and functionality based on changing travel patterns and requirements for personalized travel planning
• Ensuring that internal requirements comply with the established API strategy and that external requirements support the transition to a greener society
• Balancing performance, stability, and functionality in system development
• Implementation of basic lifecycle management to minimize future technical debt

Requirements Specification

The assignment requires an experienced backend developer with the ability to transform real-world scenarios into efficient data models. Great emphasis is placed on a long-term holistic approach and the ability to balance security and functionality.

Mandatory Requirements

• Documented hands-on experience in a production environment (OpenTripPlanner (OTP))
• Very good knowledge of .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET (http://ASP.NET) Core
• Experience in development in Java
• Knowledge of OpenStreetMap (OSM) and handling large geospatial datasets and GIS concepts
• Several years of experience in system development according to agile principles in teams

Desirable Requirements

• Operation in Microsoft Azure including autoscaling
• Experience with Docker, Argo CD, and Redis Cluster
• Knowledge of monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch & Kibana)
• Experience in DevOps work
• Experience with IT systems in the public transport sector

Additional Info

• Contract Period: 2026-02-22 to 2026-06-30, with an option for extension
• Scope: Full-time
